Who is Henry?
If you like historical linguistics the name Henry derives from German, spent a while in France, and landed in Britain to mean “Ruler Of The Home”. I wouldn’t ever try to suggest I rule any home! (not even my own). That title clearly belongs to our dog, Sal, who is by far the focal point of our realm.
Nevertheless, it’s very much connected to the idea of creating a home – and that’s what our business is about. Delivering ways to elevate everything about the tenant experience at a furnished rental home. We own and operate several furnished rental homes ourselves in the beautiful city of Temecula, CA. Henry also has a design arm that provides design services to other furnished rental operators looking to professionalize and operate top quality rental homes. We do this by addressing the design, amenities, and overall experience. Henry is there to focus on how to create the best home possible for your tenants, while maximizing the investment you are making in your furnished rental business. When these two worlds collide, everyone wins!
The faces behind Henry Hosts are myself, Jules, and my hubby and business partner, Will. We arrived in the USA, via London and Johannesburg 24 years ago and during this time we’ve been lucky enough to live up and down the beautiful Californian coast.

A bit about Jules
I’ve led a double life that has involved a corporate career in property consulting but I’ve also been to art school and I’m a creative entrepreneur. I’ve owned and run a staging business, an interior design studio, and my own furnishings showroom. Fair to say, all things design, are a passion of mine! I’ve designed spaces from studio apartments to multi-million dollar homes.
For me, designing is all about the possibility of creating a stunning environment that can be enjoyed to the max. It can be equally beautiful as functional and luxurious but cozy. I love to mix high with low and encourage my clients to think about how to get the most out of their investment. It’s not what you spend, it’s how you spend it. I’m a strong believer in creating personality in each home and I love to combine more contemporary with vintage, mix in pattern and textures and always offer something a little unexpected! The goal when I ‘m designing is to deliver something unique.

A bit about Will
Will’s creativity is funneled through his approach to business. There is never a problem that can’t be fixed and he often quotes his childhood hero, Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it's done”. Will is a mastermind at the concept of starting at the end goal… and working backward to discover the best solution. His eternal optimism is infectious!
With a track record of building businesses in the corporate world, he has turned his hand to the economics of furnished rentals. Through a combination of benchmarking and peer analysis he’s adept at evaluating the current standing and future potential of any property. He always has one eye on the potential for brand marketing and developing additional sources of revenue within any business. With increasing competition in the furnished rental world, it’s time to bring your best game!
What we share in common is a belief that if you work hard, you deserve to play hard. We love entertaining and making our own tenants feel special, and we enjoy putting our skills to work to support businesses and hosts with the same goal.

What to expect from the Blog?
Time is precious so these articles will try to strike a balance between helpfulness and brevity!
Topics will cover all things interior design, hospitality, lifestyle, local events and community (but usually with a design or hospitality led angle), and a few splatterings of things a little more personal.
The HH Blog is also a window into our business, so articles will include snapshots and insights into our work and current projects as a shameless way to promote ourselves!
We’ll always try to infuse a little humor/humour! – As a Brit, and South African we tend to have our own brand of wit, so let’s hope this doesn’t get lost in translation!
Thank you for taking the time to visit the site. I hope you find something of interest or help while you’re browsing around and we look forward to sharing our world with you. If you’d like to know more about the work and services of Henry Hosts please reach out to jules@henryhosts.com
